In the first year of high school Spanish there is a lot to learn so that we can set up a strong foundation. We will cover lots of basic vocabulary in first semester and practice it with other students in class. In the second semester (in Spring) we will begin to put this vocabulary together in ways that allow us to expand our conversations, so that by the end of the year we have much of the basic vocabulary needed to survive while traveling in a Spanish-speaking country. We will have plenty of practice using the language to help us build the confidence needed to actually do that.
